Getting Ready For University

Summer Programme for Pre-University Students

At Kaleidoscope Solutions, our specialised coaching programmes are designed to equip neurodivergent students with the skills and confidence needed for university life. We understand the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals and tailor our support to help you navigate academic and social environments effectively.

Our 5-part virtual mentoring series offers personalised, one-to-one guidance across five key areas: getting ready for university, understanding your DSA entitlements, navigating your first few weeks, making sure your needs are known and met by your institution, and building friendships and social connections. Each session is 50 minutes long and delivered online at a time that works for you.

Before your first session, you'll complete a short introductory questionnaire so that your mentor can hit the ground running with support that is truly tailored to you. At the end of the programme, you'll receive a personalised booklet to help you navigate your first weeks of term, drawing directly on what you've explored together in your sessions. It also includes practical tips for managing anxiety, stress, and homesickness — because we know that the emotional side of university life matters just as much as the academic.

Whether you're seeking study strategies, time management techniques, or simply someone in your corner as you take this exciting next step, our team is dedicated to empowering you every step of the way.

The full programme is available for £200 when booked before 1st July 2026, rising to £250 for bookings made from 2nd July 2026.

Getting Your Neurodivergent Young Person Ready for University

The move to university is one of the biggest transitions a young person will make — and for neurodivergent students, it often brings a particular mix of challenges and opportunities. New routines, unfamiliar environments, greater independence and a very different support structure can all feel daunting, both for the young person and for the parents and carers walking alongside them. This 50-minute webinar offers practical, experience-led guidance to help you prepare with confidence.

Drawing on over twenty years of work in neurodiversity, SEND and Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) support, the session covers:

Navigating the transition — what actually changes when a young person moves from school or college to university, and how to help them build the independence, routines and self-advocacy skills that make settling in easier.

Getting DSA sorted — a clear walk-through of what the Disabled Students' Allowance is, who's eligible, how to apply, and how to avoid the common hold-ups so support is in place when term begins rather than weeks into the first semester.

Myth-busting — separating fact from fear around university support, disclosure, "coping," and what neurodivergent students can realistically expect. There's a lot of misinformation out there, and we'll clear some of it up.

Self-care for parents and carers — because supporting a young person through this transition takes a toll too. We'll talk honestly about boundaries, letting go, and looking after yourself in the process.

Participants are invited to submit questions in advance. These will be anonymised and answered during the session, so you can raise the things that matter most to you with complete confidentiality.
